Business analysis is the practice of understanding business needs, investigating problems and recommending changes that deliver value. Organizations are rethinking how they work. Processes are becoming digital, teams are exploring automation, and AI is opening new possibilities. Making these changes useful starts with understanding the business problem. What needs to improve? Whose needs matter? What should a solution do? How will we know it works?

The Business Analysis for Digital Transformation program helps you develop the practical skills to deal with these questions, clarify requirements and contribute to better business outcomes and solutions. You'll learn from experienced experts who bring workplace examples, live demonstrations and hands-on guidance into the learning experience. You'll Practice engaging stakeholders, mapping processes, documenting requirements and evaluating improvements using modern business analysis tools.

It's time to build on your professional experience with in-demand skills and capabilities to stay ahead!

About the Course

Think about a time you helped resolve a recurring problem at work. Perhaps you gathered feedback, clarified a confusing request or suggested a better way to complete a task.

Those experiences can provide a useful starting point for business analysis. This program helps you build on them with structured techniques, practical tools and guided application.

You will follow a business challenge from discovery to a proposed improvement: understanding stakeholder needs, mapping the existing process, identifying gaps and defining what a solution should achieve. You will then develop user stories, acceptance criteria and simple prototypes that make your recommendations easier to discuss and evaluate.

Our expert instructors bring the work to life. Through live demonstrations, practical examples and feedback, they help you understand how to approach each activity, why it matters and how it connects to the wider initiative.

Using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio and Figma, you will create connected project outputs that give you tangible work to review, refine and discuss. As organizations explore AI and automation, the questions behind technology decisions become increasingly important. You will examine where these tools could improve a workflow, what requirements and safeguards are needed, and how AI can support selected analysis tasks while you retain responsibility for the quality of your work.

No previous business analysis or programming experience is required. Bring your curiosity, professional perspective and willingness to learn. Develop the skills to move from identifying a problem to helping shape a better solution.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, you will learn to

Understand Business Analysis in Practice: Explore how business analysis connects organizational needs, stakeholder expectations and digital solutions to support meaningful improvements.
Investigate Problems and Identify Opportunities: Apply structured questioning, root cause analysis and gap analysis to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for change.
Engage Stakeholders and Uncover Requirements: Identify relevant stakeholders, prepare discovery questions and practise interviews and workshops to clarify needs, priorities and expectations.
Map and Improve Business Processes: Create flowcharts, swimlane diagrams and introductory BPMN models using Microsoft Visio. Compare current and future workflows to identify delays, duplication and potential improvements.
Develop Clear Business Requirements: Document business, stakeholder, functional and non-functional requirements. Explore business rules, use cases and traceability to keep proposed solutions connected to the original need.
Write User Stories and Acceptance Criteria: Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories and define conditions that help teams assess whether a requirement has been met.
Apply Business Analysis within Agile Teams: Explore Scrum and Kanban concepts, prioritize requirements and practise organizing epics, stories and a sample backlog using Jira.
Organize Documentation and Collaboration: Use Confluence to structure requirements, capture decisions and maintain information that supports shared understanding.
Communicate Solutions through Prototypes: Create introductory wireframes in Figma to illustrate user interactions, gather feedback and refine selected requirements.
Explore AI and Automation Opportunities: Assess where automation could improve a workflow and consider data needs, exceptions, privacy and human oversight. Use AI to support selected analysis tasks while verifying its outputs.
Support Solution Validation and Adoption: Develop selected user acceptance test scenarios, connect them to requirements and consider how a proposed change will affect its users.
Present an Evidence-Based Recommendation: Bring your learning together in an applied project. Explain the problem, proposed improvement, expected value, risks and measures of success.
